Opening a file

The Lightcube project file has a file extension .art. To open a .art file, select the menu option File...Open or double click on the file in the Windows file explorer. Lightcube also enables you to open the following image file types:

  • PNG

  • GIF (including animated GIF)

  • JPEG

  • BMP

  • Photoshop PSD

For image files, Lightcube will extract all unique colors from the image in order to create a palette however if the number of colors is greater than 256, the palette is quantized down to 256 colors.
